Miracle is our extraordinary rescue. Jo attended an FPL nest tear down and retrieved a couple dozen young birds. One egg hatched in the hand of the worker who was bringing the nest down. All the birds went to a feeder, a special individual with incubaters and rescue equipment. All the birds were distributed after they were weaned except one, the chick that hatched in the workman’s gloved hand. We called him Miracle because his life was such a miracle story. We co-authored the book “Parrots in the City” written by Mattie Sue Athan based on the inspiration of that little bird’s life. Miracle was truly a miracle and a blessing to us for almost 10 years.
